Georgia reports 3,115 new cases of coronavirus, 43 deaths

Georgia has reported 3,115 new Covid-19 cases, 11,767 recoveries, and 43 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 23.53 percent.

Overall 73,351 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 17,527 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 13,948 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 3,579 were PCR tests. 

1,619,274 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,529,623 of 1,619,274 patients have recovered, while 16,274 have died from the virus.

The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for about 85 percent of confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The 3,115 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 1,347 cases 
  • Adjara - 125 cases 
  • Imereti - 461 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 153 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 189 cases 
  • Guria - 178 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 266 cases 
  • Kakheti - 220 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 77 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 57 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 42 cases

A total of 3,025 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 718 patients are in critical condition out of which 250 are on artificial ventilation.

70,326 people are undergoing treatment at home.
