Georgian officials on Sunday wished Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate Christmas on December 25, wishing them “health and prosperity”.
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said she joined the “joy and festive mood” of the congregations of various Christian churches in Georgia - an “important and worthy” part of Georgian society - wishing them “health, joy and prosperity”.
The multitude of religious denominations in Georgia and their centuries-old tradition of peaceful coexistence are the pride of our country [Georgia]”, the President added.
Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili also wished Merry Christmas to those celebrating this Christian festival today. “May this holiday bring happiness, joy, peace & solace to you and your families”, he wrote.

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze also shared the congratulatory post on his Twitter account, wishing “peace and happiness” to everyone celebrating Christmas today.
