Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Tuesday congratulated Georgian citizens, who celebrate the Nowruz holiday, especially Azerbaijani compatriots marking the “arrival of spring”.
In her social media post, Zourabichvili wrote “I desire this day to become a new beginning, a source of new life, bringing renewed energy and calm relations”. She also congratulated the citizens of the neighbouring countries of Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, as well as all those celebrating the holiday.
Nowruz celebrates the New Year and the beginning of spring for communities worldwide based on the Iranian Solar Hijri calendar. Also known as the Persian New Year, it marks the onset of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
