Georgia’s revenues from tourism reached $3.2 billion between January-November, a 103.5 percent recovery from the same period of the pre-pandemic 2019 and a 182.4 percent increase over the same period of 2021, the National Tourism Administration said on Friday.
The Administration said in November alone revenues had surpassed pre-pandemic figures, adding the country had received $305,029,882 in income from tourism. The figure marked a 151.2 percent recovery from 2019 and a 174.9 percent increase year-on-year.
Georgia hosted 4,862,247 international travellers in the first 11 months of 2022, a 185.5 percent increase year-on-year and a 55.9 percent recovery from 2019, the GNTA also said.
Figures during the same period included 3,348,333 international tourist type visits, a 133.7 percent increase compared to the January-November period of 2021 and a 70.2 percent recovery on 2019.
In addition, the number of international traveller visits in November recovered by 70 percent compared to 2019. During the month, 471,165 international travellers were hosted in the country - a 160.4 percent year-on-year increase.
