Georgian chess masters Nona Gaprindashvili, Zurab Sturua and Sopiko Tereladze are competing in the ongoing FIDE World Senior Chess Championship in Italy.

The three competitors are involved in the tournament that is running across 11 rounds through November 27.

Five-time world champion Gaprindashvili won the senior tournament in the 65+ age category in 2019.

Sturua is the winner of the 2014 World Championship in the 50+ age section, while Tereladze won the European Senior Championship among women in the 50+ category this summer.
