Georgian chess player Meri Arabidze has won the European Championship, becoming the second Georgian woman to win the title of the best chess player in the history of European chess, the Georgian Chess Federation said on Wednesday.
Arabidze scored 8.5 points out of 11 and convincingly won the championship without defeat at the entire tournament.
The 29-year-old Georgian chess player is also the winner of the 2015 World Team Championship and multiple prize winner of the Chess Olympiad and European Team Championships.
