Vladimer Konstantinidi, the deputy foreign minister of Georgia, on Tuesday praised the “mutually beneficial cooperation” between Georgia and Finland as the countries marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Addressing the audience for an anniversary event in Tbilisi, the Georgian official stressed the “strong, friendly relations” over the past 30 years were “based on mutual respect and common values” between the two states.
Three decades of our friendship and multidimensional relations in bilateral and multilateral formats have brought us a number of genuine results and laid a solid foundation for further expansion of this mutually beneficial cooperation - especially in the fields of politics, economy, cybersecurity and education, as well as in terms of deepening people-to-people contacts", he said.

Konstantinidi thanked Finnish authorities for their “strong and continued support” for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for their “active involvement” in the European Union monitoring mission, the only foreign mission in Georgia observing activities adjacent to the Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
The deputy minister said he hoped Finland would continue to support Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and expressed confidence the cooperation could play an important role in “overcoming common challenges” and “ensuring a more peaceful and bright European and Euro-Atlantic future”.
