The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland has issued a statement supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
In its statement the MFA of Finland fully aligns with the EU statement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Syria and Georgian territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia currently occupied by Russia.

The EU has reiterated its strong condemnation in the OSCE Permanent Council of the decision by the Syrian regime to establish diplomatic relations with the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia stating "this must be reversed.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria released an official statement recognising the occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions as independent on May 29.Georgia has responded with measures to cut diplomatic relations with the Syrian Arab Republic.
