Matias Martinnen, the Head of the Finland-Georgia Friendship Group, on Tuesday said his country was ready to help strengthen Georgia’s education system in an interview with the Georgian Public Broadcaster.

Martinnen noted the interest in the Finnish education system by professionals of the field in Georgia in the conversation.

As I noticed, many of my colleagues in Georgia are interested in the Finnish education system. I told them we were willing to help. We are ready to provide more information and help our friends strengthen their education [system],"  Martinnen said.

As part of his official visit to Georgia, Martinnen and members of the Finland-Georgia Friendship Group visited central Georgia's village of Odzisi, near the administrative boundary separating the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region from the Georgian-controlled territory.

The visitors were provided with detailed information on the Russian Federation’s occupation activities along the line and in the two occupied regions of Tskhinvali and Abkhazia.
