Giorgi Margvelashvili and Sauli Niinistö who has visited Georgia on his first working visit agreed to activate bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Finland.
The situation on Georgia’s occupied territories and security environment in the region were the issues discussed by the presidents of Georgia and Finland at a meeting held yesterday.
Georgian president Giorgi Margvelashvili thanked his colleague from Finland for supporting Georgia’s European integration, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
As pointed out at the meeting Georgia and Finland are connected through common interests mainly involving trade and economic relations, tourism development and security. As for the latter, the presidents of the two countries agreed that it is extremely important to strengthen cooperation in the context of hybrid threats.
