Georgian freestyle wrestlers Giorgi Elbakidze and Vladimer Gamkrelidze on Saturday claimed gold medals at the U23 World Championships in Spain’s northwestern city of Pontevedra.
In the final of the 70kg weight category, Elbakidze defeated Iranian Amir Mohammad Yazdani by the score of 8:4 and brought the first gold medal to the Georgian national team at the tournament.
Defeating his Kazakh counterpart Daulet Yergesh, Gamkrelidze also claimed a gold medal, earning the second gold in the national team.
