Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday co-chaired a “high-level” thematic discussion in a roundtable format on the peaceful and secure future of the European Union, with his Estonian counterpart Kaja Kallas, within the framework of the first session of the inaugural summit of the European Political Community in Prague.
The summit organisers have elected Garibashvili and Kallas to co-chair the discussion, which has been attended by the leaders of the EU member states, reviewing the current geopolitical situation and ongoing military operation in Ukraine, as well as the challenges that threaten global security, the government administration said.

In his tweet, Garibashvili said he was “delighted” to co-chair a discussion on the “peaceful and secure” future of the European Union and noted Georgia stood together with its partners in “addressing existing challenges”.

The officials also discussed how to continue the construction process of the European family and the integration of the associated countries, and noted that a “new platform” - the European Political Community has been a mechanism to open discussions on creating new opportunities for these countries, to help their integration process in the EU.
