Strategic partnership between Georgia and Türkiye was discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on the sidelines of the UN general assembly.
The officials reviewed the cooperation between the two countries in international formats, the Georgian foreign office said.
The meeting focused on the “successful” regional formats of cooperation with the participation of Georgia and Türkiye and the “need” to intensify efforts in this direction.

Darchiashvili and Çavuşoğlu also discussed the security environment in the Black Sea region and emphasised the importance of “stability and peace” for the sustainable development of the region.
The ministers confirmed their “readiness” to continue “intensive” high-level communication on all important issues of the strategic partnership.
