Georgian PM, Bulgarian ambassador discuss cooperation, security matters

Cooperation between Georgian and Bulgaria and the agenda of bilateral relations were discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili and the Bulgarian ambassador Veselin Valkanov.

The officials expressed their willingness to “further deepen” the cooperation between the two countries to “fully use the existing potential”, the Government administration said.

The meeting also highlighted Bulgaria’s position in the top 10 trade partners of Georgia.

Valkanov reaffirmed his country’s support for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia, as well as for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The officials also reviewed the ongoing war in Ukraine and the “difficult” security situation in the Black Sea region and the world.
