Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said Georgia has maintained "peace, stability and strong economic development, while the whole world is facing the biggest challenges", the Government Administration announced on Saturday.

Garibashvili made this statement at the foundation laying ceremony of Ambassador Batumi Island in the Black Sea resort city earlier today.

You know we have double-digit economic growth while the whole world is facing huge challenges. Recession is almost everywhere and we have maintained peace, stability and strong economic development”, Garibashvili said.

He stressed the importance of the $100 million Ambassador Batumi Island project and noted that “such projects” contribute to the creation of more jobs and income in the country.

Today our country needs the implementation of such projects, strong economic development and progress, which will certainly create more jobs, more income, more wealth and more prosperity for our citizens. This is our common desire, task and dream”, Garibashvili said.

The Georgian economy grew by 9.7 percent in July 2022 year-on-year, while the average real gross domestic product increased by 10.3 percent between January-July, the latest data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia shows.
