The Georgian national water polo team defeated Slovakia in their last game of the group at the 2022 European Water Polo Championship in Croatia on Friday and proceeded to the playoff.
The Georgian team defeated their counterparts with the score of 16:11, with Slovakian Dušan Vasić becoming the top scorer with four goals.
The Public Broadcaster said the Georgian team would fight for a “historic result” in the tournament to get among the eight best teams. The Georgians will face the winner between Romania and the Netherlands in the next match.
The Georgian national water polo team had recorded the best result in history at the last European Championship in 2020, where the team was among the ten best teams in Europe.
