The Georgian national futsal team had a successful start at the 2024 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Saturday defeating Belgium in the first match of the qualification stage at Tbilisi Arena.
The national team, coached by Avtandil Asatiani, defeated the opponents by 4:2 in a contested match, with Bynho’s goal in the first half and with Fernando’s, Roninho’s and Thales’s goals in the second half of the match .

We knew it would be a difficult match. [...] In the first game, there is always more motivation to get three points. [...] We had some mistakes in certain areas but in the end, the good play outweighed it. I would like to thank the players for getting the three points needed”, Asatiani said after the match.
The national team is set to hold their second match on Wednesday against Austria.
