New EU Ambassador presents credentials to Georgian Foreign Minister, discuss cooperation

Pawel Herczynski, the European Union’s newly appointed Ambassador, on Friday, presented his credentials to Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, after which the officials discussed the “wide range” of existing cooperation between Georgia and the EU, including the European Council’s decision to grant the country the European perspective.

Darchiashvili  informed Herczynski about the process of fulfilling the action plan for the 12-point conditions outlined by the European Council for granting Georgia candidate status, and the sides also discussed the agenda of the Georgia-EU Association Council, which is set to be held on Tuesday in Brussels.

The Head of the EU Delegation welcomed the participation of the Georgian Foreign Minister in a two-day informal Gymnich format meeting of the European Union foreign ministers held in Prague, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
