Georgian finance minister Lasha Khutsishvili and Pawel Herczynski, the European Union's newly appointed ambassador to the country, on Tuesday discussed dynamics of relations between the two sides in an introductory meeting between the officials, the ministry announced.
Khutsishvili emphasised the role of the EU support in the development of Georgia’s political, financial and technical sectors, and noted the importance of fulfilling the 12 priorities outlined by the European Council for granting the country the EU membership candidate status.

Khutsishvili informed the ambassador about the current economic situation of the country and introduced updated macroeconomic parameters for the rest of the year, while Herczynski expressed readiness for "active cooperation".
Herczynski replaced Carl Hartzell as the new EU ambassador to Georgia in June.
