National Food Agency testing reveals excessive lead in spices

Georgia’s National Food Agency has detected excessive lead in four types of spices out of 197 samples tested, the state body announced on Wednesday.

The results came following examination of samples of various products, with the Agency also clearing over 250 samples of food products of animal origin after the samples - including food intended for infants and children of early age - satisfied regulations in the testing.

Professionals also examined 142 samples of drinking water and 25 samples of alcoholic beverages with no breaches of regulations detected.
