The “role and importance” of the Associated Trio countries of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine under a “new geopolitical agenda” were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his Moldovan counterpart Nicu Popescu on the sidelines of the informal meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Prague.
The two ministers welcomed the invitation of representatives of the three states to the informal EU meeting as an “expression of the EU's strong and unwavering support”, the Georgian foreign office said.

The officials reviewed the European integration question, achievements and future plans, including recommendations of the European Commission related to the integration and the progress of their implementation.
Darchiashvili and Popescu also discussed various issues of bilateral cooperation, focusing on the security environment in the Black Sea region.
