Two teams representing the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University at Big Idea Challenge, an international startup video pitch competition, won prizes in social impact and creative categories of the contest, the University announced on Sunday.
Georgia's champion and winner team in social impact, Grandala, represents the idea of Mariam Ispiriani and Giulgiun Mamedkhanova, which involves the creation of an online platform for learning the Georgian language for ethnic minorities in the country. The platform will enable language learners and registered teachers to connect with each other and use uploaded learning materials.
Studio for Arts, creative category winner, presented an online platform for creative people, which will allow artists to introduce themselves and their works to the public.
The Big Idea Challenge gives students, from the participating countries of the British Council's Creative Spark programme, the opportunity to create and introduce local startups to the world.
The TSU Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Centre, together with the University of Essex and consortium of Change School, has been successfully participating in the programme for the 4th year.
