Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday held a farewell meeting with Hubert Knirsch, the outgoing Ambassador of Germany to Georgia, with the officials discussing relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Garibashvili extended his gratitude to Knirsch for his “close and active” cooperation and wished him "every success" in his future activities, the Government Administration said.
The meeting focused on a “fruitful” cooperation between Georgia and Germany, both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
The head of the Government thanked the German Government for its “strong” support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, as well as for the country's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The officials stressed the fact that the Georgian Government had “actually” already started to implement the 12 priorities outlined by the European Council for granting the country the membership candidate status.
German Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Peter Fischer will replace the outgoing Hubert Knirsch as the German Ambassador to Georgia in late August.
