Georgia’s Under 20 national basketball team opened their participation in the Division B of the FIBA U20 European Basketball Championship with a victory over Austria at the new Tbilisi Arena complex on Saturday.
Led by head coach Milos Gligorijevic, the national team defeated their counterparts with a score 81:65, Vladimer Salaridze becoming the top scorer for the team with 15 points and Nordin Kapic scoring 22 points for Austria to become the top scorer in the match.

The Georgian national team will face Sweden in their next match on Sunday, as Georgia is hosting the games of the Division involving teams from 19 countries, divided into four groups.
The two top-placed teams from each group will progress to the playoffs, while the ultimate winner, the second- and third-placed teams will be promoted to Division A and compete among the elite next year.
