Georgian, Slovenian FMs discuss relations

Bilateral and multilateral political relations involving Georgia and Slovenia, and the process of Georgia's integration into the European Union were discussed between Ilia Darchiashvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and his Slovenian counterpart Tanja Fajon on Thursday at the ongoing NATO Summit.
The two officials welcomed the decision of the European Council on granting a European perspective to Georgia and the steps taken by the country on the path of its European integration, while also welcoming the decisions made at the NATO Summit, including on the alliance's support for Georgia.
The Slovenian FM reiterated her country’s support for Georgia's European integration, reaffirming strong support for the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, the Foreign Ministry said.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry on Thursday welcomed the approval of a set of “tailored support” measures for the country by the NATO Summit, with the support involving “concrete steps” to further enhance the country's defence capabilities and achieve NATO’s more effective engagement in this process.
French Ambassador to Georgia Diego Colas on Thursday said Georgia was considered a “strategic country” in the Black Sea region.
The NATO Summit in Madrid was “successful” for Georgia, with another “very important step” forward taken in the country's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Victor Dolidze, the Head of the Georgian mission to NATO, said on Thursday.
New measures to step up “tailored political and practical support” to partners including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Moldova will be ensured by NATO following a declaration on the matter at the ongoing Summit of the alliance on Wednesday.
Bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and its European partners, the country’s European Union membership aspirations and the security environment in the Black Sea region were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his counterparts from Norway, Montenegro and the Netherlands at the ongoing NATO Summit.
