Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday discussed the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States with a delegation of US Senate congressmembers led by Jeanne Shaheen, the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Senator Thom Tillis.
Meeting at the NATO Summit in Madrid, the parties expressed readiness to “further deepen the close cooperation” between the two countries, the Government Administration said.
The meeting also focused on Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and the progress made by the country on the path to full membership in the European Union and NATO.
“Georgia's democratisation and our commitment to Euro-Atlantic values are fundamental to strengthening US-Georgia relations”, the Georgian Prime Minister tweeted following the meeting.
