Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday joined heads of state invited for the NATO Summit that launched on Tuesday in Madrid in a dinner hosted on behalf of King Felipe VI of Spain.

Leaders of over 40 countries were addressed by the Spanish monarch at the event, the Government Administration said.

Garibashvili is scheduled to hold meetings on the sidelines of the Summit, while his delegation also includes Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze and the Head of the Government Administration Revaz Javelidze.

The PM on Monday said the delegation was expecting “assessment and recognition” of “all the progress” made by the country over the years at the Summit. Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Monday said the alliance would adopt “new packages of support” for Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova at the gathering.
