The Embassy of the United States to Georgia on Tuesday said the United States would not “turn its back” on its partners in Georgia and Ukraine no matter how much their independence might “annoy” Russia.

The Embassy said the Russian “disinformation machine” believed reality could be changed by repeating “absurd lies” and “rewriting history”, pointing out the facts of the Russian invasion in Georgia in 1991 and 2008, as well as in Ukraine in 2014 and 2022.

With the collaborative support from the West, Georgia and Ukraine stand, maintaining their sovereignty and independence. As much as the independence of these countries might annoy Russia, the United States will not turn its back on its partners. The west is more united than ever”, the statement said.

The message also criticised Russia for placing blame for “these and other hostilities” on everyone but itself.

If we believe them, Ukraine itself, NATO, the United States, and however surprising it might be - Jewish Nazis started the war in Ukraine”, the statement concluded.
