Coronavirus: Georgia reports 18,274 new cases, 8,400 recoveries, 41 deaths

Georgia has reported 18,274 new cases of coronavirus, 8,400 recoveries and 41 deaths in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate stands at 21.56%.

A total of 133,981 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Overall, 84,762 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 48,320 of them were rapid tests, while the remaining 34,442 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had a total of 1,144,220 Covid-19 cases since February 26, 2020. 

995,328 of the 1,144,220 infected individuals have recovered, while 14,911 have died from the virus.

The new 18,274 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 9,297 cases 
  • Adjara - 1,833 cases 
  • Imereti - 2,277 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 1,024 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 932 cases 
  • Guria - 308 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 988 cases 
  • Kakheti - 815 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 367 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 359 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 74 cases
  • Ministry of Health reduces quarantine period for fully vaccinated

5,426 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 859 of them are in intensive care units. 280 patients are on artificial ventilation. 

126,464 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.

1,332,139 individuals in the country have received at least one dose of Covid-19 the vaccine so far, while 1,218,567 have been fully vaccinated.
