Georgia reports 17,265 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 23.24%

Georgia has reported 17,265 new cases of coronavirus, 5,947 recoveries and 34 deaths in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate stands at 23.24%.

A total of 145,265 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Overall, 69,190 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 38,203 of them were rapid antigen tests, while the remaining 30,987 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had a total of 1,161,485 Covid-19 cases since February 26, 2020. 

1,001,275 of the 1,161,485 infected individuals have recovered, while 14,945 have died from the virus.

The new 17,265 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 8,980 cases 
  • Adjara - 1,913 cases 
  • Imereti - 2,247 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 870 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 679 cases 
  • Guria - 264 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 944 cases 
  • Kakheti - 657 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 408 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 266 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 37 cases

5,191 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,007 of them are in intensive care units. 272 patients are on artificial ventilation. 

138,013 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.

As of now, 42.4% of the adult population in the country have been fully vaccinated, while 155,915 individuals have received their booster shots.
