Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri on Tuesday congratulated law enforcement officers on Police Day, saying the Georgian Government and the Ministry were “actively working” to create working conditions of “European standard” for police officers.
Gomelauri said the work was aiming at providing social guarantees for law enforcement employees of the Ministry, adding the state body “understands very well” that work for adopting European standards should “not only include infrastructure projects” in the country.
The Minister told law enforcement professionals a “human rights-oriented police work” meant “adherence to European principles and the power of development,” in his comments on the date.
He also claimed law enforcement in the country involved police officers “oriented on human interests and justice,” and thanked officers for their service for “public order and safety of citizens”.
