Georgian police and the Interior Ministry have played an “important role” in the country’s integration with the European Union and the visa-free travel implementation process with the EU, Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri said on Tuesday in an address delivered on Police Day.

Gomelauri thanked Georgia’s international partners for their “worthy partnership” in the direction of EU integration, adding the Ministry continued to “fulfill commitments” for the purpose of integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.

While congratulating law enforcement officers on Police Day, the Minister said the Government and the Ministry were “actively working” to create working conditions of “European standard” for police officers.
