Georgia joins one of Caucasus' largest agriculture exhibitions

A Georgian stand was opened at one of the largest international exhibitions in the Caucasus region - Caspian Agro 2022 - in Baku on Thursday, the Georgian Agriculture Ministry announced. 

A total of 14 Georgian companies participated in the event, with the products presented at the exhibition including alcoholic beverages, nuts, dried fruits, organic juices, honey, various canned goods, combined animal feed and other products.

Bringing together various countries from across the world, the main directions of Caspian Agro are agricultural products and machinery, innovative technologies, livestock and poultry, animal feed, horticulture, fruit and vegetable production and processing.

Ali Asadov, the Azerbaijani Prime Minister, visited the Georgian stand to stress the importance of “long-standing friendly relations” between the two countries, the Ministry said.

I would also like to mention that participation in the exhibition further deepens these relations [...] I think the exhibition provides an opportunity to expand the sales area of our products even more,” Khanishvili added. 

Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Zurab Pataradze, who also attended the event in Baku earlier today, said “important business meetings” had been held during the exhibition, calling it a “contributing factor” to the deepening of trade and economic relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

In their comments, representatives of the Georgian companies stressed the importance of the state’s support in organising their participation in the exhibition, calling it an “important factor” for the diversification of the markets and the growth of the export of Georgian agro-food products, the Ministry announced. 

With over 12,000 visitors annually, Caspian Argo is set to run between May 18-20 and is attended by 24 countries and about 450 companies this year.
