Police have arrested 10 individuals in Tbilisi and regions on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Saturday.
The Ministry revealed law enforcement had seized Makarov and Nagant type pistols, 219 cartridges, two muzzle loaders and other arms during a related search of houses.
The crime is punishable up to seven years in prison.
Police have arrested three individuals for the illegal purchase and possession of firearms and ammunition in the Adjara and Guria regions.
