Law enforcers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Sunday arrested eight individuals and charged one in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi and other regions of the country with illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition, the Ministry said.
The Ministry revealed law enforcement had seized a Makarov type pistol, a muzzle loader and cartridges during a related search of houses.
The crime is punishable up to seven years in prison.
The Georgian State Security Service and Interior Ministry have seized presumed spare parts of armoured military vehicles following a search of a location adjacent to a house in the country’s north-eastern Dusheti municipality.

Police have arrested 10 individuals in Tbilisi and regions on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Saturday.
The Ministry revealed law enforcement had seized Makarov and Nagant type pistols, 219 cartridges, two muzzle loaders and other arms during a related search of houses.
The crime is punishable by four to 11 years in prison.
Three individuals were injured after an explosion at the corner of Kutateladze and Lagidze streets in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi on Saturday.
