Ilia Darchiashvili, the Foreign Minister of Georgia, held high-level meetings in Azerbaijan on Wednesday, discussing bilateral relations between the two countries with Azerbaijani officials.
During a meeting with Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bairamov, Darchiashvili discussed the economic, energy, trade and transport ties between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The ministers also reviewed the cultural, educational and inter-ethnic ties between their countries, and welcomed the efforts to further deepen these ties through various projects, the Georgian MFA said.

Darchiashvili later met with Sahiba Gafarova, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan. The officials highlighted the “successful cooperation” between the legislative bodies of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The sides also discussed regional security issues and reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen relations between the two countries.

Earlier on April 27, Darchiashvili met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, pointing out the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan, marked this year.
