The main areas of close cooperation between the countries were discussed on Saturday in a meeting between the Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili and the Baku mayor Eldar Azizov.
At the meeting the sides noted that Georgia and Azerbaijan had a “good experience” of dialogue, friendship and cooperation, which has brought a “solid” strategic partnership, the government administration said.
Garibashvili said that “deepening” regional cooperation has been in the common interests of the two countries and noted Georgia, as a “reliable partner” of Azerbaijan, would continue to make a “significant” contribution to the implementation and development of joint projects.
The conversation also touched on the security situation in the South Caucasus region and the world, with the officials emphasising the importance of peaceful conflict resolution.
