Georgia’s readiness to implement reforms in the fields of energy security and independence, as well as the country’s infrastructure and the capital market were highlighted during a meeting between the Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili and Odile Renaud-Basso, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Ministry announced on Thursday.
The sides acknowledged the partnership between Georgia and the EBRD and the projects supported by the Bank in the country, pointing out the role of the institution in the process of Georgia’s European integration.

Khutsishvili briefed Renaud-Basso on macroeconomic parameters of the country and discussed the effects of the global pandemic and economic recovery trends. He also thanked the President and her team for their “strong and fruitful cooperation.”
Currently, the portfolio of EBRD in the country amounts to over €4.6 billion, of which 79 percent is invested in the private sector, the Ministry said.
