Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili said on Wednesday Georgia had “strong support” from the international financial organisations, which was reaffirmed during his visit to Washington.
Khutsishvili noted he had bilateral meetings at the US State Department, where the sides discussed the enforcement of the international sanctions imposed on Russia for attacking Ukraine.
We discussed the process of enforcing the international sanctions in Georgia, which received a fairly high evaluation. Regarding the sanctions [imposed on Russia], there is no question on whether the way to avoid sanctions could be Georgia. In this regard, the measures taken by Georgia do not leave any questions,” he said.
Khutsishvili took part in annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group run between April 18-24 in the United States.
