State Security Service launches investigation into possible attacks on officials after comments by Parliament Vice Speaker

The opposition United National Movement party is “mobilised to plan certain provocations” during the visit of the Georgian Parliamentary delegation to Ukraine that is set to begin today, Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Gia Volski said on Friday.

The State Security Service of Georgia has launched an investigation into possible attacks on Georgian state officials following comments by Gia Volski, the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, the Security Service told Imedinews on Friday.

Earlier on Friday Volski claimed the opposition United National Movement party was “mobilised to plan certain provocations” during the visit of the Georgian Parliamentary delegation to Ukraine that is set to begin today.

Volski also said Georgian special services had received information about the “possible provocation” by the party from “reliable sources” and had already shared it with their Ukrainian counterparts.
