Young startups in Georgia have the ability to quickly achieve international recognition and gain access to global resources and funding, Ryan Salem, the CEO of FTX Crypto Derivatives Exchange, said on Friday.

Following his meeting with Georgian startups earlier today, Salem noted Georgian companies were not “inferior in quality” to companies operating in other countries of the world, predicting “great success” in the international arena after the development of cryptocurrency in the country.

Salem also met several FTX partners from Georgia with whom the company had already been collaborating remotely, the Georgian Economy Ministry said.

Michelle Bond, the CEO of the Association for Digital Asset Markets and part of the FTX delegation in Georgia, said introduction of innovative cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies in Georgia had been discussed during meetings with both Government bodies and businesses. Improving the regulatory framework to further develop the business environment in the country was also discussed during the meetings of the FTX delegation in Georgia, Bond noted, adding an improved framework would result in growth of the Georgian economy and new jobs.
