Georgia reports 365 new cases of Covid-19, 415 recoveries, 5 deaths

Georgia has reported 365 new cases of Coronavirus, 415 recoveries and five deaths over the last 24 hours.
Out of the 365 new cases 183 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, 39 - in Shida Kartli, 37 - in Imereti, 30 - in Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti, 27 - in Adjara, 21 - in Guria, 8 - in Kvemo Kartli, 6 - in Kakheti, 6 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, 5 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 3 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti.
As of now the number of total confirmed cases of coronavirus stands at 280,301 in Georgia including 272,219 recoveries, 3,751 deaths and 4,305 active cases of the virus.

Although Georgia started vaccination on March 15 health officials are worried that health workers, who are the primary target group for vaccination, are not active enough.
Head of Infectious Diseases and AIDS Centre Tengiz Tsertsvadze said a total of 35,000 health workers should be vaccinated by the end of the year, however, no more than 2,000 of them have received their vaccines yet.
Georgia has already received 43,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine and 29,250 doses of the Pfizer vaccines. It will further receive 100,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine in April.
Head of the Georgian National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze told the First Channel of the Georgian Public Broadcaster that negotiations with other vaccine producing companies, including Johnson & Johnson continues.
Georgia has reported 490 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting 11,769 PCR tests and 24,791 rapid tests over the last 24 hours. Out of the 490 new cases 256 were reported in Tbilisi. Meanwhile 219 individuals have recovered and eight people have died.
Georgia will likely receive Chinese coronavirus vaccines Sinopharm next month, announces deputy Health Minister of Georgia Tamar Gabunia. She said that in addition, negotiations are underway to receive additional doses of the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines.
Vaccination with Pfizer will be allowed in four clinics of Tbilisi: Republican Hospital, Bokeria clinic, Caucasus Medical Centre and Amtel hospital, in two clinics of Kutaisi and in Batumi Republican Hospital in the Adjara region. Individuals receiving either the AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines against Covid-19 will have to stay at clinics for 45 minutes, instead of 30 minutes to be observed if there are any adverse effects.
The 43,200 doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine has arrived in Georgia this morning. UNICEF, which has supported the Government of Georgia in procuring the Covid-19 vaccines, has announced that the plane has already landed at Tbilisi International Airport.
Georgia has reported 171 new cases of coronavirus, 382 recoveries and 14 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Georgia has reported 673 new cases of coronavirus, 298 recoveries and eight deaths in the past 24 hours.30,751 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 23,361 of the 30,751 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 7,390 were PCR tests. The country has had 281,145 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 272,899 of the 281,145 patients have recovered, while 3,773 have died of the virus. Currently 4,447 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.
Georgia has reported 578 new cases of coronavirus, 659 recoveries and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours. 9,750 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend. 5,650 of the 9,750 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 4,100 were PCR tests. The country has had 295,936 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 3.06 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
