Coronavirus: 490 new cases, 219 recoveries, 8 deaths

Georgia has reported 490 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting 11,769 PCR tests and 24,791 rapid tests over the last 24 hours. 

Out of the 490 new cases 256 were reported in Tbilisi, 69 - in Imereti, 41 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 36 - in Adjara, 26 - in Shida Kartli, 22 - in Kvemo Kartli, 20 - in Kakheti, 7 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 7 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, 6 - in Guria. Meanwhile 219 individuals have recovered, increasing the total number of recoveries to 271,804. With eight new cases of death Georgia has lost 3,746 patients out of the total 279,936 cases of Covid-19 infection since last February.

Georgia started vaccination on March 15 after the country received the first 43,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine. In addition 29,250 doses of the US-German Pfizer/BioNtech coronavirus vaccine entered Georgia late on March 24. Georgia will also receive Chinese coronavirus vaccines Sinopharm next month.
