Nikoloz Basilashvili is the first Georgian player to ever win the ATP tournament. He took his first trophy in Germany in July 2018, followed by China in October 2018 and later in Germany again in July 2019.
Over a year ago Nikoloz Basilashvili was charged with domestic violence. Although he was released on a 100,000 GEL (about $32,500/€27,600) bail, the investigation on the case is still underway. However, Basilashvili denies the charges.
Ahead of thanking the Georgian supporters, Basilashvili addressed his son Luka in Georgian, saying that he is ‘the most precious person’ for him and that he loves and misses him a lot.
