Exports of tangerines up 34% in last four months

Exports of tangerines have increased by 34% in the last four months and amounted to 31,900 tonnes, bringing in $15.7 million, which is a 37% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection reports.

Tangerines were exported mostly to:

  • Russia – 22,267 tonnes
  • Armenia – 5,254 tonnes
  • Ukraine – 3,138 tonnes

Georgian tangerines were also exported to Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan.

A total of 25,934 tons of citrus worth 13.7 million USD were exported from Georgia in the last 11 months which is a record-high figure, online media outlet bm.ge reports.
