Georgia intends to export tangerines to Singapore, Slovenia, Qatar

Head of the Adjara region government Tornike Rijvadze has announced that tangerines will be exported to Singapore, Slovenia and Qatar this year.

Tangerines harvest season picks up in west Georgia.

Exports of tangerines amounted to 3,909 tonnes from the middle of October to November 29, announced Tornike Rijvadze at today’s government meeting.

The leading destination countries for exports are Russia, Armenia, Ukraine, Latvia and Azerbaijan.  

A coordination centre serving farmers and factories opened on October 16, and facilitates the distribution of state subsidiaries to farmers producing tangerines.

The centre will work until February 1, 2020.
