Tbilisi City Hall announced today that one-time fare for public transport will be 1 GEL instead of 50 tetri starting next year, noting that if individuals buy one-year card for 250 GEL, they will spend about 20 GEL in the public transport monthly.
Passengers will be able to choose the plan they want from the payment system.
For a one-time trip, a passenger will have to pay 1 GEL, with which they can use bus, minibus, subway or the Bagebi-Maglivi ropeway for 90 minutes.
If a passenger buys a season ticket, they will no longer pay 80 tetri in a separate minibus and will be able to use any municipal transport.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said the unlimited ticket system will go into effect starting February 1 in Tbilisi.
Passengers will choose between an unlimited 90-minute card, unlimited one-day card, unlimited one-week card or unlimited one-month card.
Season tickets will be sold at express branches of the Bank of Georgia (BOG) and at machines in Tbilisi Metro.
