Tbilisi City Hall will introduce a station announcement system in municipal buses and mini buses operating in the capital, Mayor Kakha Kaladze said on Wednesday.
Kaladze revealed the initiative while commenting on recent updates to transport infrastructure across the city and noting the importance of updating it for people with special needs.
The Mayor noted traffic lights at recently renovated streets of the city had been equipped with audio signal and vibration modes to help pedestrians, including disabled people, to cross streets safely.
He also highlighted the significance of ensuring all metro stations are adapted for people with special needs.
In other comments, Kaladze noted cases of vandalism in the capital, noting 18 traffic lights equipped for disabled people had been damaged over the recent months and urging the public to refrain from causing damage to infrastructure.
