A celebration of illustration art, with dozens of artists, book presentations, talks and more, is coming to the Artarea Gallery space in Tbilisi next week through Tbilisi Illustration Fair.
Held to showcase emerging illustration talent and promote their field of creative work as part of Tbilisi's ongoing status as the UNESCO World Book Capital, the two-day event will bring together 34 creatives from the Georgian scene.
Their work will be displayed in a group show, in addition to prints and books, and a catalogue prepared for the occasion and encompassing commissions by 45 illustrators.
Visitors to the Artarea space will be able to take part in meetings with artists for different generations, and hear their experiences and thoughts about book art.

The talks will cover subjects ranging from development of the genre of graphic novel in Georgia, to unveiling of a book about characters of Georgian mythology.
Publishers will also host presentations and talks with authors of their newest publications, from two illustrated editions by Melani Publishing, to the newest book by Ia Gabunia.
Beside running as part of Tbilisi's World Book Capital theme, the fair was designed to create a new professional platform for illustrators and designers in the country, offering networking opportunities to artists and publishers in the field.
Set to run at the gallery located at 10, Dodo Abashidze Street in the capital, the fair will host visitors between 11am-9pm on December 13, and 11am-8pm on December 14.
