A new project by Tbilisi-based Book Art Centre seeks to present creative publications and experimental book design to literary audiences, with its upcoming exhibition opening this Friday.
The project Travelling Art Books will present books published by the Berlin-based store of the Swiss distribution company Motto as well as experimental publications by Georgian artists at the Gallery Nectar in central Tbilisi.
Print items and crafts exhibited for sale at the two-day occasion will include notebooks, postcards and bags made by creative independent artists.

The occasion will also include a presentation of publications by artist Tamuna Chabashvili, co-founder of the international project Public Space With a Roof.
The event aimed to highlight creative qualities of experimental publications released in "small print runs" and featuring novel formats and ideas.
Its organisers said they planned to host monthly exhibitions within the project.

Located in the Old City district of Tbilisi, the Gallery Nectar served as an artist-run space for contemporary art.
The Book Art Centre aimed to promote creativity in book design and illustration and contribute to forging links between designers and publishers.
The Travelling Art Books exhibition and sale will conclude on January 23.
